Terms of service

In plain language: use TabTally fairly, your content stays yours, and TabTally is a record-keeping tool, not a bank.

Last updated: June 11, 2026

1. Accepting these terms

By creating an account or using TabTally (the apps and websites at tabtally.io), you agree to these terms and our privacy policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. What TabTally is (and isn’t)

TabTally is a record-keeping tool for shared expenses. It tracks who paid for what and calculates who owes whom.

TabTally is not a bank, e-money issuer, payment processor, or money services business. We never hold, transfer, or have access to your money. Settling a debt recorded in TabTally happens entirely outside the service, between you and the people you split with. Amounts shown after currency conversion are estimates based on third-party exchange rates and are not financial advice.

3. Your account

You need an account to sign in. You’re responsible for activity that happens under your account. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to use TabTally.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use TabTally for anything unlawful or fraudulent.
  • Upload content that is abusive, infringing, or malicious.
  • Attempt to break, probe, or overload the service, or access other users’ data without permission.
  • Resell or misrepresent the service as your own.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

5. Your content

The expenses, receipts, and comments you add remain yours. You grant us the license needed to store, process, and display that content to you and the people you share it with — that’s it. You’re responsible for having the right to upload what you upload.

6. Pricing

TabTally’s core features are currently free. We may introduce paid plans in the future; if we do, we’ll make the pricing clear before you’re ever charged, and core features will remain free.

7. Availability & changes

We work hard to keep TabTally fast and reliable, but the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We’ll give reasonable notice of material changes where practical.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TabTally and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for disputes between users about who owes what. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (which, for free accounts, is zero).

9. Termination

You can stop using TabTally and request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (like limitations of liability) survive.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.
